Congratulations to everyone who attempted the Backwards Brainstorm last week!  I hope you are having fun turning your idea into an awesome story!  You are all winners because you have a new idea!  Sometimes ideas are not easy to come by!  However, there is only one lucky winner of SQUARE CAT by Elizabeth Schoonmaker.  Do you want to know who?  Okay, okay!  It's Linda Boyden!  Congratulations!  Linda, please email your address to carriebrown@carriecharleybrown.com.  Elizabeth Schoonmaker will be sending her dear cat Eula in your direction!

Our new July Book Club reviewers had a winner featured, too!  You can check out the winner and the new August book picks here.  I also hope you will enjoy their reviews in the Contest Gallery.

This week's brainstorm is short-n-sweet.  Here is your prompt:

What do you get when you cross two unusual things?  A unique idea for a story!  One of my featured August Book Club's characters does just that.  I'd like to introduce you to Benjamin Franklinstein...a cross between Ben Franklin and Frankenstein.  Now, see what YOU can come up with!  Have fun!

As a children’s writer, and a teacher, my goal is to help you carry on.  Sometimes learning is challenging, so why go it alone?  Your journey will be more meaningful and comfortable with friends to share it with. Together, we'll get up close and personal with authors, illustrators, and the best of picture books.  If we work together, great things will follow!
