There's an Nerdy Chick in All of Us!

Most of you know that I am not an illustrator by trade. I have always loved to draw, but pursued other interests like theatre in high school, and elementary education in college. There's an artsy chick just waiting to hatch inside of me! If I can do it, so can you! The image above is my entry in the KidLit Summer School Art Contest. Thanks, Lori! Now, if I could just learn how to make him look like he is running, or leaping, or exercising. Standing I can do! Maybe someday I'll have the time to learn more about active art and perspective. :)

Thanks, Shirley! My son was like... it's funny that he has a pocket protector without a shirt. And I said, "Exactly." :) Maybe he was born that way, right?
