Being able to write beautifully is a gift. Being about to choose just the right word and put it in just the right spot to create something lovely and lasting is a skill to be admired.
It’s a skill I aspire to, so when I was working on Wherever You Go (coming from Little, Brown on April 21) I looked to other books for inspiration and found these three:

I used these titles to look at lyrical language. None have a plot in the classic storybook sense, but their language, theme and emotion are worth emulating. After I wrote my book, two others came out that fit in the same category:

I highly recommend all five.
