Thanks, you guys! I have reread some favorites, read a few classics for the first time, and been introduced to many newish pbs I'd heard about but not gotten to read yet. So many ideas and new approaches in mind for my various wip. And now this week, I'll catch up on the 10 or so pbs on the shelves that I didn't receive in time, and I need to go check which day they went with:>) Happy Easter!

Carrie and Kristi, you both are amazing. This annual event is a lot of hard work. But seem to be able to get an early start on it all. I have learned a great deal. This is the first year I fully participated, actually reading, and applying what I've read to my mss. I remember when you first started this amazing event. I remember thinking, this is just the challenge I need to move my writing forward. This is the challenge I need to learn more about the nuances of picture book writing. Your great guests and their amazing advice has added a level of confidence to how I read and write. A confidence I did not have. I am so grateful. So grateful.

Thanks for everything. And Happy Easter. I've been thinking a lot about my favorite book in early childhood. The Story of Ping; complex plot, a mixture of the warmth of family togetherness the harshness of worldly problems, and the realization that bad things happen in the world for no apparent reason. While I loved this book it may have freaked me out for the rest of my life, trying to avoid that spank on the back, yet I love this book still. It's definitely on my mentor list!

By mid month I wasn't sure I was up to the task but I kept my head down and kept putting books on hold at the library (I even got a call from the Library Coordinator wondering why I was putting so many books on hold!) and kept reading and making notes in my journal! I DID IT!
